You should debate using the same technical skills as you would in a normal round. You should be flowing, weighing and impacting, framing, etc. as usual.
These rounds are fun because people argue off of false premises based on questionable evidence. They are less fun if people do not actually debate the arguments. Please treat it as a debate!
All times are cut in half.
Unless explicitly specified otherwise, normal rules apply—no new arguments in rebuttals, dropped arguments can’t be re-extended, ex.
Speech times:
AC 3 min
CX 1.5 min
NC/1NR 3.5 min
CX 1.5 min
1AR 2 min
2NR 3 min
2AR 1.5 min

No prep time!
Case Options:
Each round, you will have a choice of 2–3 cases to run. These will not be your cases and will not be your opponent’s or your judge’s.
Everyone’s cases will be given as an option to other debaters approximately an equal number of times. Seeding is then based on number of times your cases win and then number of times they lose (popularity is important).
Case Selection:
Aff should say what case they are running as early as possible so that neg can choose a case based on the aff.
Aff must choose 1st—you cannot try to wait and see which case the neg chooses.
Case Usage:
Aff is expected to run and defend the chosen aff case.
Neg must run one of the neg cases, but like in a normal round, can make other offensive arguments and choose to collapse on one later.
Points are limited to 0–30.
Try to have it such that if people reasonable adhere to your paradigm, they will get a sane number of speaker points.
You should assign speaker points based on your paradigm and based on how speaker points would be assigned in a normal round (actual speaking ability, debate style, etc.).
Speaker points are the 3rd tie breaker after the number of times your cases win and the number of times your cases lose. The likelihood of your speaker points affecting your seed is pretty low. Don't freak out if a judge gives you bad speaks! The speaker points are there so that people can have fun with paradigms without messing with the actual result of the round.
